About Us

Established in 2001, MTR Designer Cabinets is the result of a collaboration between two apprentices Michael and Tony. Having worked together since 1997, both had a desire to start their own company and thus MTR was born.

Operations first began in 2001 when they renovated horse stables on Michael’s parent’s property and turned them into a factory. Designs were hand drawn allowing both Michael and Tony to gain invaluable experience in the ‘old school’ way of designing and manufacturing joinery. The business grew in leaps and bounds until securing a larger space was a necessity in 2008. MTR moved location to Campbellfield and continued to expand both their clientele and their staff.

MTR’s focus has always been on strong custom design which has set them apart from their competitors and the business has flourished because of their commitment to quality and customer satisfaction.

Today MTR’s operations are in a purpose-built space in Somerton which features a showroom, offices and factory housing the most up-to date machinery and design software available. Services include the ability to consult with a fully qualified Interior Designer and experts in custom joinery design as well as the confidence that only decades of knowledge provides.
